Way North Foods

Way North Foods Chef Perry Harmon and his wife honeymooned in Paris, France and it was there in the City of Lights that Perry felt the desire to become a chef. Upon returning to the states he enrolled in and completed culinary school and an apprenticeship program through the American Culinary Federation.

After graduating with honors, Perry wore many chef hats and worked in some high caliber kitchens honing his skills over the next ten years. Along the way he developed a passion for creating specialty foods.

After much thought, a little luck and the support of his wife, Chef Perry founded Way North Foods in 2006 and started baking his first signature product, his handcrafted artisanal biscotti day and night in a rented church kitchen in northern Michigan. By the summer of 2007 word got out that this was not just ordinary biscotti, it was extraordinary! Way North Foods moved into a new production facility in the winter of 2007 to keep up with demand and have some room to grow its product line of handcrafted specialty foods. Chef Perry uses local ingredients from the farms, fields and orchards of the surrounding region.

Way North Foods was founded with one goal: to be making every product "Way North of Ordinary - Extraordinary!" Way North Foods believes that life is a journey so why not enjoy the very best life can give along the way? All of Chef Perry's handcrafted products are made with the highest quality all-natural, wholesome ingredients he can find, including local and Michigan products. He believes in only making products that are bursting with flavor much like the fruit he uses from the orchards, bogs, vineyards and fields that surround northern Michigan.

Chef Perry lives in Traverse City, Michigan with his family who are all self-proclaimed "product testers."
